Produced Water Recycling
- Orion operates mobile and fixed recycling systems across several shale plays in North America.
- We own and operate a fleet of dissolved air floatation (DAF) systems with a total capacity exceeding 1 million barrels per day, including the largest DAF in the Permian Basin with a capacity of 200,000 barrels per day
On The Fly Disinfection
- Orion uses oxidizing biocides for fast and effective bacteria control.
- We employ different oxidizing agents as appropriate depending on the application.
- Typical oxidizing agents include chlorine dioxide, PAA, peroxide, and sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
- Oxidizing biocides can be more cost effective, safer to handle, and allow for real-time monitoring and dosage control compared to commonly used non-oxidizing biocides
Pond Management
- In certain areas of O&G production, water can be a scare resource and very costly to source if there is no midstream infrastructure or capacity available.
- As such, companies will store water in pits for future use. As the water sits dormant in a pit awaiting use, it can can be a hosting ground for bacteria to breed.
- In 2023 Orion introduced its pit services offering which helped operators maintain the health of their Produced Water Pits and provide real time monitoring of the health of the water.
- Orion has the ability treat an entire pit or portion of a pit and return the treated water back to the pit, preserving it for future use.
- The Company uses its mobile pumping units to treat pit water with ClO2, Peroxide or Bleach, as appropriate; ultimately, returning the treated water back to the pit.
- Orion offers onsite management services to maintain pits for its customers and its Scorpio units are easily deployable and quick solutions.
